DESCRIPTION:Fall Color Drive \nJoin Dawsons and Lausers for a Fall Color Drive on some of their favorite Pierce County rustic roads and bucolic byways. We’ll await your arrival in Prescott at Freedom Park\, which overlooks the Mississippi River. It is approximately one-half mile south on Highway 35 as you cross the river bridge and turn right at the first stoplight in Prescott\, then one block east as you crest the top of the hill leading south out of town (just look for the sign to the park). The adventure begins at 10 a.m. Be there by then or be left behind. \nFor the convenience of those west of the Mississippi\, we’ll wrap up the drive with lunch at The Smokin’ Oak Restaurant on the north end of Red Wing. It’s on U.S. 61 for an easy return to the Twin Cities area through Hastings to I-494. If you want more rustic road adventure after lunch\, we’ll drive them back to Hastings. \nTo be sure the restaurant knows how much to thin the soup for our group\, RSVP to Lausers by noon October 5 at glauser@centurylink.net or by phoning 715.262.9813. SUMMARY:Muscle Car Shootout Labor Day Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The 32nd Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout on Labor Day weekend is a perennial favorite at BIR and is a great way to cap off your summer. Sponsored by the Gopher State Timing Association\, the Sept. 2-4 event features the Muscle Car Series’ grand finale on the drag strip\, as well as live music\, and much more. \nOn the drag strip\, the Muscle Car Series will be wrapping up the season\, as drivers duke it out for series championships. The seven Heads-Up Classes – Outlaw Pro Mod\, Outlaw\, King Street\, Real Street\, 660 Outlaw Street\, and 660 Limited Street – will be center stage\, featuring cars with huge horsepower that can get down the track in 6-7 seconds and crank out speeds of 200+ mph. It’s heads-up drag racing at its finest\, featuring some of the fastest cars in the Midwest. Time trials and qualifying are Friday and Saturday\, with eliminations on Sunday. The race also highlights 10 Index classes\, the winners of which have a separate run-off to crown the Index Class Champion. Three Strip Eliminator classes\, Truck Eliminator\, and Manual Transmission class round out the race schedule.

SUMMARY:Street Car Showdown
DESCRIPTION:BIR hosts the first major race of the 2021 season Memorial Day weekend. The Street Car Showdown kicks off the three-race Muscle Car Series on the drag strip. Featuring an impressive display of power and speed\, fans get a steady dose of 200+ mph speeds and times at 6-7 seconds. It’s intense drag racing that brings race fans back year after year. \nDrivers in the Muscle Car Series are competing for series points and\, ultimately\, a series championship. The race features cars in Outlaw Pro Mod\, Outlaw\, King Street\, Real Street\, 660 Outlaw Street and 660 Limited Street classes\, which make up the Heads-Up classes where both cars launch at the same time with the winner being the first car to cross the finish line. The race also highlights 10 Index classes\, the winners of which have a separate run-off to crown the Index Class Champion. Three Strip Eliminator classes\, Truck Eliminator\, and Manual Transmission class round out the race schedule. It’s a full weekend of racing\, with qualifying that runs Friday and Saturday\, and eliminations on Sunday. \nPrior to the Showdown\, BIR is hosting the SCCA Competition Racing License School\, which is how racers can get licensed to compete in SCCA races.
